Our services:
How to access the service
Parents and carers can self refer their child to speech and language therapists, but all other therapies require a medical referral.
When a referral is received it is screened and if it meets the referral criteria placed on the appropriate service waiting list. An appointment will then be offered for an assessment.
Services provided could include:
- individual therapy or group work
- advice and support to parents/carers and other professionals
- training opportunities for parents, carers and other professionals
All therapists receive appropriate training (undergraduate and post graduate training) to work with children and young people with SEND and their families. Therapists are trained in alternative communication methods including British Sign Language. Interpreters are usually available for families with English as a second language.
