Research Conference 2024
7th Annual Trust Research Conference, 22 May 2024
The Trust’s seventh annual research conference took place 22 May 2024 to coincide with International Clinical Trials week, with over 400 people registered; a mix of in-person and online as the conference was run as a hybrid event. We opened the conference with a tribute to the wonderful Dr Wendy Mitchell, Trust Research Champion and Recovery College Facilitator for many years, who sadly passed away in Feb 2024. The programme also included speakers from various professions and specialties within our Trust, as well as national experts talking about research we are supporting in our Trust. The buzz in the room and at breaks networking was fantastic.

Research Conference 2022
3rd November 2022, 09.30-16.00
On 3 Nov 2022 we held our 6th very successful research conference, with around 450 delegates registering this year from over 100 different organisations.
Unfortunately, at very short notice, we had to move the conference to fully online, due to high levels of COVID and respiratory infections in the local area. However, despite a few small technical problems out of our control, the conference was very well received.
Feedback was really positive; 95% of people who completed the evaluation form rated the conference overall as excellent/good.
‘Great conference’
‘Many thanks for, and congratulations on, a very informative, varied and interesting conference’
‘Great day, it has motivated me to get involved’

Our Research Conference, “Developing a City of Research IV”, took place on 17 and 18 Nov 2020.
Our fourth annual research conference was postponed in May due to the pandemic. However, not wanting to miss the opportunity to share important research findings and highlight the incredibly varied research we are involved in, including vital COVID-19 research, we held our first virtual research conference over two half days on 17-18 Nov 2020.
Almost 300 people registered, including international delegates, 50+ organisations and many professional groups. Feedback was fantastic; 98% who completed the online evaluation form rated the conference as excellent or good. Here are a few comments:
- I don't think I have ever experienced anything quite like this before from an NHS Trust.
- This was a really excellent conference and worked really well online.
- Holding it over two days made it easier to access.
- Could pick and choose what to watch that was relevant to me, therefore value for money.
- Invigorating and refreshed my enthusiasm for research.
- The variation in content was brilliant - a memorable occasion.
- Really impressed with enthusiasm and passion of colleagues @ResearchHumber for research that makes a difference to patients.
