World Mental Health Day 2021
Published: 10 October 2021
As part of our campaign for World Mental Health Day, we want to contribute to breaking down the stigma around mental health.
As a Trust, we pride ourselves on the fact that we work hard to ensure our health and wellbeing initiatives are not only available for staff to use, but that we stand by and encourage our staff to speak up and speak out about mental health at work and at home.
Remember, it’s ok to talk.
To show others how we encourage our staff to embrace their true selves, to seek help when they need it, and to foster and environment in which they would feel comfortable speaking about their lived experiences with mental health, we developed some videos with two of our Peer Support Workers, Luke and Gavin.
They were generous enough to share their unique and moving stories with us and demonstrate how they apply their learnings into their job roles at Humber.
They also spoke about what additional activities and resources they find helpful, including our Trust Thrive Group, in which staff members are encouraged to join and speak openly about their experiences in a safe and welcoming environment.
