Whitby Community Hospital Car Parking
Published: 01 January 0001
Whitby Hospital car parks are available for patients, staff and hospital visitors only.
The new car parks operate an Automatic Number Plate Recognition system, which makes sure that only valid users are accessing and using the car parking spaces.
Any non-valid users will be issued a Parking Charge Notice.
Patients, including Blue Badge Holders and motorcyclists, must enter their car registration number in the tablets located around the hospital, which will provide them with 4 hours of free parking.
The car parks are being managed by Saba, on behalf of NHS Property Services.
If you have any specific queries, please feel free to contact their customer support service on 0800 085 3015.
FAQs
Q. How does this system work?
A. Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) is a system that uses cameras to record vehicle number plates as they enter and exit the car park. For patients, by entering your number plate in the tablet at reception, the system will recognise that you are eligible for a free parking. For staff, the system will recognise your car when you enter the car park.
Q. Is there a free period for drop offs and pick ups?
A. Yes there is a 20 minute grace period. If you stay longer then you will need to register your vehicle details at reception.
Q. What happens if I don’t enter my number plate?
A. It is important that you enter your number plate, including Blue Badge Holders, or you may be issued with a Parking Charge Notice.
Q. What happens if the car park is busy and I am driving around trying to find a space?
A. The 20 minute grace period provides sufficient time to all allow users to find a parking space.
Q. What is the process for Blue Badge Holders?
A. Please ensure your Blue Badge is clearly displayed in your vehicle. You must also enter your number plate in the tablet at reception or you may be issued with a Parking Charge Notice.
Q. How do I appeal a Parking Charge Notice (PCN)?
A. Appeals are handled by Saba, the company managing the parking system. Details of how to appeal are contained on the reverse of the PCN. For full details of the appeals process, visit www.sabaparking.co.uk/faq
