Published: 13 May 2022

We are pleased to announce that our West and Central Hull Locality Mental Health team has been shortlisted by the Student Nursing Times for Student Community Placement of the Year.

Representatives from the team attended presentation stages in London on 25 April 2022.

The team were nominated by their colleagues in our Trust Practice Education team, who said:

“We are nominating this team in amongst a sea of fantastic placements that we have in the

Trust, this team have emerged as a “phoenix from the flames” and become a real success

story, one that we think should be celebrated.

The team have been pioneers in paving the way for how community placements would adapt to supporting student nurses during the pandemic and, in doing so, provided a blueprint and a working model to empower other teams that had closed down to students, to re-open with confidence.

During the height of the pandemic, the team rose to the challenge and worked closely with

Our Practice Education team to become a valuable, re-established placement area for students.”

The teams are exceptionally proud to have been nominated amongst some extremely strong candidates and are now looking forward to attending the awards ceremony on 27 May 2022.

Good luck to everyone involved!
