Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust illuminated its Children and Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Unit, Inspire, as part of its activity to mark the NHS 72nd Birthday on Sunday 5th July.

They join other Trusts and organisations that have been lighting up landmark buildings in towns and cities across the UK as part of this annual event.

Events were organised by and for staff to recognise the special place the NHS holds in our lives and to say thank you to its staff and other key workers and those that have supported them during these challenging times.

A virtual Sunday Service was also held by Trust Chaplain, Eve Rose at 5pm on Sunday 5th July. The Bishop of Hull, the Lord Mayor shared words of thanks and we were joined by NHS England’s National Mental Health Director, Claire Murdoch, and local MP’s Emma Hardy and Diana Johnson.

The service started by joining the Final Clap for Carer’s event, the nation’s biggest clap. The Trust also called on the public to join them to say a huge thank you on behalf of the whole NHS to all those who have played their part in tackling this pandemic.

Trust staff who were working over the birthday weekend were thanked for their resilience and bravery by receiving afternoon tea hampers so they can have a special break and raise a glass (or mug!) to the NHS and one another.
