Trust leading the way to recruit GPs in hard to reach areas

Over 80 GP trainees from across the region are set to descend on Hull for the Fair Health ‘Training for Health Equity’ event this Friday (15th November).

The event held at Trust Headquarters, Willerby will see new and experienced GPs share their knowledge with trainees to help them develop skills to thrive in General Practice.  The event will also increase knowledge about health equality with the aim of encouraging more trainees to apply for roles in harder to reach areas.

John Byrne, Medical Director said: “We are delighted to be hosting this event to give trainees a space to learn the skills they need to be the GP’s of the future.

As a former GP, I understand the unique role they play in supporting the health of the communities they serve and this event felt like a great way to not only support  career development but also showcase our Trust to those that may want to work with us in the future.

We want to encourage as many future GPs as possible to think about choosing Hull and the East Riding for their careers. It’s a great place to live and work and we want to do our part to raise the profile of the region for the benefit of our patients and service users.”

The Trust operates Primary Care services in eight practices across Hull and the East Riding; Chestnuts and Hallgate Surgery (Cottingham), Field House and  Manor House Surgery (Bridlington), Market Weighton Group Practice, North Point Medical Practice (Bransholme), Peeler House Surgery (Hessle), Princes Medical Centre (Hull).
