Trust Announces Appointment of New Nursing Director

Our Trust are delighted to announce the appointment of Sarah Smyth as our new Executive Director of Nursing, Allied Health and Social Care Professionals.
Sarah joins the Trust from Humber Health Partnership as the Nurse Director for Neurosciences, prior to this she was the Interim Deputy Chief Nurse at Leeds Teaching Hospitals where she was responsible for providing professional and strategic leadership to nurses, midwives, allied health professionals (AHPs), and care staff.
Before that Sarah was the Associate Chief Operating Officer at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust where she has worked since 2019.
Sarah will join Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust in March 2025 when she will take over from Hilary Gledhill who it was announced in October would be retiring after 10 years with the Trust and over 42 years of NHS service.
Sarah has over 25 years of nursing experience having started her career in adult nursing at North Manchester General Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary before holding senior nursing and quality roles at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Trust, Sheffield and Hull Primary Care Trusts (PCT) and then the Director of Quality and Clinical Governance / Executive Nurse at Hull Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
Sarah shared, “I am proud to be appointed as Executive Director of Nursing, Allied Health and Social Care Professionals at an exciting time for the Trust. I look forward to working alongside such a skilled and committed team to ensure we continue providing high-quality care for our patients."
