The Beverley-born athlete met with teams and services and delivered a keynote speech on the theme of supporting your own mental health and wellbeing, as well as sharing highlights of her swimming career including World and European medal successes.
Lizzie spoke to the attendees passionately about her mindset shifted following her fourth-place finish at the London 2012 Olympics. She shared how she gave herself permission to see the result as an achievement to be proud of. She also drew parallels between the collaborative approaches made within the Trust’s services which mirrored work she was also undertaking in her own field of sport.
Reflecting on the event she said, “It’s genuinely been inspiring walking around the room and meeting all of you.”
