Statement from Michele Moran, Chief Executive
Published: 05 August 2024
Like many of you I was shocked to see the senseless racism and violence in Hull over the weekend. As a Board of Directors, we condemn these acts and stand in solidarity with those affected.
I would like to thank our colleagues and friends in the emergency services that were on the frontline of this vandalism and aggression. The dedication, bravery, and professionalism of our police, fire services, and paramedics in such challenging circumstances has been truly commendable.
The NHS is built on the values of diversity and inclusion, and it is this diversity that makes us strong and able to provide exceptional care. Our staff, representing a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences, come together every day to serve our communities with compassion and dedication. In these challenging times we must continue to support one another and uphold the principles of respect and understanding that are at the core of the NHS.
Seeing our proud, diverse, and welcoming city come together in the aftermath of these senseless events shows this minority that they do not represent us, and they will not divide us.
