Rebecca Highly Commended for Making a Difference to Patient Experience Award

Rebecca, Nursing Associate within our Hull Integrated Care team (HICTOP), has been highly commended by Health Education England for Making a Difference to Patient Experience.

The award, presented by Michelle Bamforth, Regional Deputy Head of Nursing and Midwifery at Health Education England, recognised Rebecca as an individual who:

  • Ensures the patient voice is heard and championed
  • Consistently features in positive patient feedback
  • Goes the extra mile for the patient and their families

When nominating Rebecca for this award, she was described as “a genuinely compassionate and empathetic person whose ability to communicate and work with older adults within our team has been observed to be nothing other than exceptional. Her ability and willingness to go the extra mile for patients and their carers is commendable. Rebecca always received tasks enthusiastically and professionally, with patients and carers and has volunteered to become the team champion for Friends and Family feedback.”

Her colleagues added:

“Rebecca utilises her role as Nursing Associate to act as an advocate for vulnerable patients, and her knowledge of how to respond to patients is excellent. The feedback we receive from patients and staff about Rebecca is always positive and encouraging, and having Rebecca recruited to our team sets a brilliant example of how Nursing Associates can enhance the patient and carer experience.”

“Rebecca has been recognised for her commitment to her patients and for always going the extra mile. Rebecca is always willing to offer suggestions that may be suitable for patients to improve their wellbeing. She advocates on behalf of her patients to promote their voices, wishes and feelings. Rebecca receives glowing feedback from both her patients and colleagues and is a well-liked and respected part of the team!”
