Our Trust has signed up to the Mindful Employer Charter, highlighting what we have already achieved in promoting support for mental health, and how we plan to develop this work in the future.

By becoming a signatory to the ‘Charter for Employers Positive about Mental Health’, we show our commitment to ensuring the workplace is a space where our employees feel confident discussing mental health issues and supported in their wellbeing.

Vickie Murray, Deputy Associate Director of People and OD said, “As an employer, we recognise that in the UK, people experiencing mental ill health continue to report stigma and discrimination at work. Having signed the ‘Charter for Employers Positive about Mental Health,’ we are committed to creating a supportive and open culture where colleagues feel able to talk about mental health confidently and aspire to support the mental wellbeing of all our staff.”

Established in 2004, Mindful Employer is a UK-wide initiative led by Devon Partnership NHS Trust. It provides employers with access to professional workplace mental health training, resources, and support, empowering organisations to lead on mental health initiatives for their staff.

This important step is just one of the multiple actions taken by our Trust to support staff wellbeing. We place emphasis on initiatives that enhance the working life of our staff, including the annual 28 Days of Wellbeing programme and excellent benefits package.

This milestone aligns with our broader mission to create a positive and inclusive working environment, ensuring all our employees feel valued and supported.
