NHS Trust launches Social Values report
Published: 05 July 2019
Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust has launched its first Social Values report today (Friday, 5 July 2019).
As a multi-speciality community provider we have been successfully delivering core NHS services to patients with diverse health challenges across a wide geographical area.
The NHS has faced significant challenges as it adjusts to increasing complexity in delivering high quality health care to a population that is not only ageing, but also living with more complex health issues.
Our social values report highlights how our teams and patients have embraced these complexities. We have worked collaboratively to think and act differently and as a result, we are developing our capacity to support people to ‘live well’ in a community setting.
Trust Medical Director Dr John Byrne said: “The Social Values report is a great way for our Trust to highlight some of the innovative services that we provide to the people of Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire and North Yorkshire."
“It brings to life, through the words and testimonials of our patients, the positive impact that our services have had on their lives.”
The Trust launched the Social Values Report in the Trust’s Lecture Theatre as part of its NHS Day celebrations.
The event also saw a market stall of Trust services set up in the Lecture Theatre with guests taking the opportunity to meet staff and learn more about our services which feature in the new report.
Chief Executive, Michele Moran formally introduced the report, with a Q&A session followed by Dr John Byrne where attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the Trust's hard-working volunteers, hearing their experiences within their roles, as well as the reasons why they decide to volunteer.
Guests were then invited over to the newly refurbished Trust HQ Café where Health Stars celebrated NHS day by holding a tea party.
“We are incredibly proud of the services and we are grateful to our patients and staff who have made them a success”, said Trust Chief Executive Michele Moran. “In addition we want to acknowledge the support of our commissioners in both Health and Social Care who have worked with us and supported our ambition to bring these services to life.”
A huge thank you to all who attended the Social Values Report Event and helped us to celebrate the 71st Birthday of the NHS.
