NHS 71st Birthday Celebrations

Friday 5 July marked the 71^st Birthday of our National Health Service with celebrations held nationwide. Groups of service users, staff, and volunteers gathered in appreciation for the services that the NHS has to offer.

We started the day off with the launch of our brand new Social Values Report Event, as part of the celebration here at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust. Held at the Trust’s Headquarters in Willerby, the event featured stalls hosted by the fantastic services that make up our NHS and an insight into the innovative services we provide in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire and North Yorkshire. Those who attended the event were also treated to first-hand testimonials from some of the Trust’s amazing volunteers, hearing of the hard-work they offer and the reasons they choose to volunteer for the NHS.

Following the Social Values Report Event, visitors, staff and volunteers were invited to attend the ‘Big Tea’ to raise a cuppa and continue the birthday celebrations. The Big Tea started with Chief Executive Michele Moran and Chair Sharon Mays cutting the ribbon and opening the newly refurbished staff room at the Trust Headquarters. Those who attended enjoyed refreshments of tea, coffee, fresh fruit and scones whilst coming together to talk about the services and positive experiences of our local NHS.
