New Cottingham GP practice name revealed
Published: 01 January 0001
Originally named Hallgate Surgery, the local Cottingham GP practice site has been under renovation for the last 6 months.
The transformation will bring with it a merger of the two local practices, Hallgate Surgery and Chestnuts Surgery, meaning that all patients will have one medical centre to attend for their appointments once the renovation is complete.
Patients in the local area were asked to participate in the naming of the building via a survey, as the Primary Care teams in Cottingham were keen for the community they serve to get involved and have their say.
Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust are proud to announce that the name for the new building has been chosen by the community, and the new practice will officially be called King Street Medical Centre.
The renovation of the newly named King Street Medical Centre is expected to be completed on Friday 9th April, with the surgery being fully open and operational to patients shortly thereafter.
As well as opening the building itself, the Cottingham team are thrilled to announce that the practice will be supported by a new website, telephone number and email address.
Full details of these changes and the finalised opening date will be communicated with patients in due course, to ensure they know where they need to go for any upcoming appointments. Telephone lines will also have a transfer period, to ensure that those who miss any communications can still get in touch when they need to.
Your local practice team is working hard at this time to ensure your brand new practice can open on time and with the relevant measures in place. They look forward to welcoming you to the new building next month and thank you for your patience over the course of the renovation.
