Improve your wellbeing this International Social Prescribing Day
Published: 01 January 0001
Our YOURhealth Prevention and Lifestyle Service would like to remind East Riding residents to take care of their mental and physical wellbeing this Social Prescribing Day.
Social prescribing is something which allows healthcare staff to refer people to a range of local, non-clinical services to support their health and wellbeing. Furthermore, Social Prescribing Day is an event which aims to foster an attitudinal change and to shift the power to the people and local communities.
Our YOURhealth team are based in your local East Riding, and are ready and waiting to help you when you need support and guidance concerning your wellbeing.
Offering bespoke one-to-one motivation and advice-based sessions, their goal is to help you feel empowered to improve your lifestyle.
In particular, they specialise in:
- Welfare and financial health
- Housing
- Healthier lifestyle
- Emotional wellbeing
- Education
- Social Health
- Volunteering
- Lessen isolation and loneliness
Natalie Belt, YOURhealth Service Manager at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, said:
“Social Prescribing is a great way to empower communities and individuals, to help them utilise skills and assets they already have, whilst also equipping them with new tips and support to improve their overall health and wellbeing.
Each individual we work with gets a personalised improvement plan which aims to motivate and support them through their journey to better health.”
This year, Social Prescribing Day is on 18th March, and the service will be working hard throughout the week to showcase the service as far and wide as possible, ensuring that all local residents are aware of the services they’re entitled to use, to improve their health and wellbeing.
