Important COVID-19 update: Whitby Hospital MIU hours

As a response to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, we will be temporarily reducing the hours of the Minor Injuries Unit at Whitby Hospital. The opening hours were previously 8am – 8pm, and will change to 8am – 6:30pm from Monday 6^th April, 2020.

This is made necessary in order to relocate staff to other critical clinical areas during the COVID-19 emergency.

The MIU department will display clear signage to redirect out of hours attendees.

If the person is experiencing a medical emergency, they need to call 999 for an ambulance. Other visitors are instructed to call NHS 111 and seek advice from call handlers on alternative assistance. 

We will restore the usual opening hours as soon as we are able to.
