HumberFest Staff and Family Fun Day
Published: 16 August 2024
Our Trust held the first HumberFest event on Sunday 11 August 2024 with over 200 staff members and their families attending the fun day. The event set out to thank staff for an exceptional staff survey result this year and fundraise for Trust Charity Health Stars.
Offering families a wide range of fun activities including hook-a-duck and coconut shy stalls, face painting, bouncy castles and tug of war competitions. There were also a range of food and drink options, with tickets providing all attendees with a tasty lunch from the BBQ.
The inaugural event was held at Mercure Grange Park Hotel in Willerby on one of the sunniest days so far during this summer holiday. Attendees enjoyed the variety of stalls and the chance to meet colleagues in an informal environment. One attendee said, “What a fantastic event, the weather definitely helps, but I have loved the opportunity to meet with colleagues and my children have thoroughly enjoyed all the games and stalls”.
HumberFest was inspired by Trust’s best-ever Staff Survey results to thank staff for their participation. This year the NHS Staff Survey saw the Trust receive record breaking results, with a completion rate of 56% representing a 12% increase year on year from 2022.
The survey includes a measure which looks at the number of staff who agree/strongly agree that they ‘would recommend their organisation as a place to work’. In this category alone, we saw a rise from 49% in 2019 to 67% in 2023, making us the most improved in the country for Trusts of our kind, and the second most improved in the NHS overall in the same period.
