Cottingham surgeries updates to prescription management
Published: 20 January 2020
How you manage your prescriptions: an update for patients of Chestnuts Surgery and Hallgate Surgery only.
Dates for your awareness - Practice and Local Pharmacy Changes
From 1st February 2020, our Hallgate and Chestnuts Surgeries will no longer facilitate prescription orders over the telephone.
Due to building works for the new surgery, and in an effort to minimise telephone queues from your recent feedback, we encourage all of our patients to register for our electronic services. There are multiple ways you can do this, including:
- The NHS app – you can download this via your smart phone play or app store.
- Engage consult – you can submit this via our website “online consultation”.
- SystmOnline Services – you can register at reception for this with your ID.
We also recommend that you send your prescriptions electronically to your chemist. You can do this by signing up to EPS.
- EPS – sign up at your pharmacy or ask the practice receptionist to change your nomination to your agreed pharmacy.
Alternatively, if you do not have access to mobile phone apps, tablet or computer, you can pop in to the surgery or your local pharmacy to request your prescriptions manually using our drop-off service at the reception desk.
We value your opinions, and we understand that our telephone queues are a large source of frustration for many of our patients when making appointments. Therefore, we are confident that this new policy will help alleviate these issues and introduce improved ways of working.
Please note: during our active building-works period at our Hallgate surgery, all prescription collections will be completed at the Chestnuts surgery location until construction is complete and we will inform you of a date in due course.
We appreciate your cooperation.
Kind Regards,
The Chestnuts & Hallgate Surgery
