Congratulations to Dr Amir Javaid!

Dr Amir Javaid has recently been awarded a ‘Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration’ (CESR) as recommended by The Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych) and the General Medical Council UK.

He passed his MRCPsych exams in 2018, after successfully completing his core training in Psychiatry and is currently working as a Trust Locum Consultant Psychiatrist in Intellectual Disability at Townend Court.

Dr Javaid said:

“I would like to send a special thanks to Dr Dasari Michael, Consultant Psychiatrist and Executive Medical Director (Interim), for his great support and encouragement throughout this process.

Also, a big thank you to Trish Bailey, Avril Brierley, my referees, Dr Kwame Fofie, Dr John Byrne, and of course the Trust Medical Education Team, especially Gillian Hughes, for your support.”

Dr Javaid recently published an excellent article which appeared in the peer reviewed ‘Journal in Progress in Neurology and Psychiatry’. The publication explores

Covid-19 and Psychopathology of Patients with Learning Disability and was also selected for the poster presentation in the Royal College of Psychiatrists Academic Conference earlier this year. You can access the publication here.
