Congratulations Lee Rickles on becoming a Fellow of BCS

We would like to congratulate Lee Rickles, Chief Information Officer at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust and Programme Director at Yorkshire & Humber Care Record, on becoming a Fellow of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, in recognition of his leadership within digital health. 

Lee said: “It’s an absolute privilege to be selected to become a Fellow of BCS following 22 years working in digital health.  I’m also thrilled to announce that Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust has also joined as a member of the Chartered Institute to help establish my colleagues as the professionals they are in their field.  As an organisation we are digital by default, the staff warrant the recognition of the expertise they demonstrate and they deserve the development that BCS offers.”

BCS is a charity, established 1957 with a Royal Charter and over 60,000 members across 150 countries.  Its mission is to ensure everyone’s experience with technology is positive. They achieve this by encouraging a digital journey that is safe and positive for everyone, by raising standards of competence and conduct across the IT industry and tackling the ethical challenges faced along the way.

Lee continued: “Please can I encourage my digital health and care leaders and colleagues to investigate the opportunities that BCS offer both individuals and organisations, currently digital health is low numbers compared to other sectors.  As digital health leaders we need to ensure all our colleagues are seen for the importance and value they offer the health and care system.”
