From 1st July 2024, our community district nursing team are changing the way calls are taken from patients during their out of hours service (between 6pm and 8am overnight). This new way of working will allow patients to speak directly to the team, rather than being diverted to a call centre, as was previously the case. It will not impact patient care.

The district nursing team provide a 24-hour service and patients and relatives can make contact and access this service at any time. The change in call handling is only applicable during the out of hours times between 6pm and 8am.

The contact telephone number remains the same throughout the 24 hours. Patients will be asked to choose from four options to get through to the correct team for their geographical area - these are Malton, Scarborough, Whitby and Pocklington.

Please note the Pocklington district nursing team do not operate after 10pm. Any calls made between 10pm and 8am will therefore be diverted to NHS 111.
