Birmingham ICC announced for 2024 Shared Care Record Summit
Published: 01 January 0001
Following on from the success of the first Shared Care Record Summit held in Leeds in March 2023, organisers are delighted to announce that the next annual summit will be at the ICC venue in Birmingham on 16-17 April 2024.
The event itself will showcase local progress of shared care record solutions and also be host to senior NHS England staff updating on the future plans for Connecting Care Records.
As host to the inaugural event this year, the summit proved immensely popular with over 250 attendees. 35 of the 42 Integrated Care Systems (ICS) attended the event in March to hear positive impacts of Shared Care Record adoption across the country. As well as a poignant patient story, health and care colleagues shared positive impacts on their progress using shared care record systems and NHS England updated delegates on the national picture. In addition, key technology partners were able to showcase their solutions.
Technology partners are an active ingredient to the conference and can help support the ongoing functionality and progress of solutions.
Key themes for the 2024 event will include the benefits and efficiencies of Shared Care Records as well as how to engage with clinical and non-clinical staff to increase usage. With a look into how data standards and information governance inform strategy, the summit hopes to provide attendees with a clear vision of national and local adoption strategies.
Lee Rickles, Chief Information Officer and Director of the Yorkshire and Humber Care Record who hosted the summit in 2023, said, “Following the success of the Summit this year, I am delighted to co-host next years’ summit in Birmingham alongside Carl Beet from Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. At the first summit I was incredibly proud of the commitment, enthusiasm and ideas shared between colleagues over the two days. We had great outputs and feedback with a real desire from staff to build on the work so far on Shared Care Records. We already have national speakers and patient advocates confirmed to speak and technology partners involved, so I am certain the upcoming summit will be another exceptional event.”
There are still some slots available for people interested in speaking at the summit, anyone who wishes to express an interest is invited to make contact via the MS Form before the deadline of 5 January 2024.
Colleagues from all Integrated Care Systems nationally are invited to send relevant colleagues to attend this event and tickets will be available to secure from 1 December, although this is a free event tickets must be obtained for those wishing to attend as it is likely to be very popular and could sell out. The event will run over two days and tickets can be sourced for both or one of the days.
