An announcement from Michele Moran, Chief Executive Officer
Published: 15 October 2024
It is with sadness that today I am announcing that after an exceptional 42 years of dedicated service to the NHS, including 10 years with Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, Hilary Gledhill, Executive Director of Nursing, Allied Health Professional and Social Care, is to retire in March 2025.
Hilary joined the Trust in June 2015. Hilary qualified in 1983 and worked as a nurse in both acute hospital services and the community as well as in a commissioning role at East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group.
Hilary’s career has been a shining example of commitment and leadership in nursing, and her contributions to patient care and the development of nursing teams have had an immeasurable impact.
Her decade with our Trust saw significant advancements in care standards, approaches to maximising patient safety and the nurturing of future nursing talent. Under her guidance, innovative programs such our approaches to preceptorship and patient safety have flourished, enhancing both the diversity and expertise within the Trust.
Hilary’s influence will be felt for years to come in every team she’s inspired and every service she’s improved. We will all miss her.
As she steps towards retirement over the next five months, we wish her the very best in this new chapter and extend our thanks for the legacy she leaves behind.
Kind regards,
Michele Moran
