A message from Chief Executive, Michele Moran

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II yesterday. I offer our deepest condolences to the Royal Family, and all affected by her loss, on behalf of everyone at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust.

Alongside other local colleagues, I had the privilege of meeting Her Majesty the Queen in 2017 at the opening of Allam Medical Building at the University of Hull. Our meeting was brief, but it left a lasting impression. As I watched her happily greet staff and members of the public, I reflected on her life of service and the shared connection this has with many of us working in the NHS.

To live a life of service means doing our best to make a difference through the service we give to others. Her Majesty was the embodiment of this. Her dedication and commitment to public service is an example to us all.

I am sure this will resonate with many other members of the NHS family, as we work every day to make a difference to our patients, their families and loved ones. We will honour her memory as she inspires us in our work today and in the future.

Through her service, Her Majesty touched the lives of many and will undoubtedly be greatly missed. We understand that this news will likely impact many colleagues and patients. We will continue to work with our partners to meet the additional needs of the public and our teams during the period of mourning, and to provide support to our staff if they need it. 

Together with colleagues, friends and family, we will pay tribute to her over the coming days as we share in this important time of reflection and mourning.
