Quality Improvement
Quality Improvement (Continuous)
The Trust has introduced a Quality Improvement (QI) approach which outlines its journey to fully embed a culture of Continuous Improvement.
About Continuous Improvement
Our Team is supporting the Trust on its journey to embed a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
The approach is focussed on ensuring that staff has the right skills, the confidence and to feel empowered to lead the change. Central to this is listening and learning from our patients, service users, carers and staff.

The Offer
Methodology – our methodology is the Model for Improvement (PDSA) which is used in the majority of small projects as it offers a framework to undertake small incremental improvements from development of idea, testing, and implementing the change.

Training - We have launched a training pathway for staff with a tiered approach to develop their knowledge and experience. There is also a continuous quality improvement training available for patients and carers on our recovery college platform.
Charters – all Quality Improvement activities in the Trust complete a charter to capture the aim of the work and how success will be measured, how it supports the Trust’s strategic goals and lessons learnt from undertaking the work.
Working closely with our Patient and Carer Experience Team – We work closely with the Patient and Carer Experience Team, including the delivery of the IMPACT (Improving Patient Care Together) plan, and the joint strategy group. In February 2025 we delivered our joint Caring Together showcasing continuing improvement with our patients and carers.
Celebration – The Trust holds quarterly QI Network Meeting to discuss projects, open doors and learn lessons and, also, bi-annual celebration weeks to celebrate all the fantastic work which is being undertaken.
Innovation – The Trust is currently developing an innovation approach, commencing with staff. More information to follow.
