Publication Scheme

What a publication scheme is

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 became law in 2005. The purpose of the Act was to promote greater openness by public authorities such as the Humber NHS Foundation Trust. It does this by giving everyone the right to request information from us.

In addition, the Trust is expected to make certain kinds of information routinely available to the public. It does this through its Publication Scheme, telling you how public services like the NHS are organised and run, how much they cost and how you can make complaints if you need to. You have the right to know which services are being provided, the targets that are being set, the standards of services that are expected and the results achieved.

The information in our Publication Scheme is grouped into sections called “Classes”. These are the classes of information in our Scheme:

Who we are and what we do
This section includes organisational information, locations and contacts, constitutional and legal governance

What we spend and how we spend it
This section includes financial information, relating to projected and actual income and expenditure, tendering, procurement and contracts.

What our priorities are and how we are doing
This section includes strategy and performance information, plans, assessments, inspections and reviews.

How we make decisions
This section includes information about policy proposals and decisions, decision making processes, internal criteria and procedures, consultations.

Our policies and procedures
This section includes current written protocols for delivering our functions and responsibilities.

Lists and Registers
This section includes information held in registers required by law and other lists and registers relating to the functions fo the authority.

The Services we offer
This section includes advice and guidance, booklets and leaflets, transactions and medical releases, a description of the services offered.
