Freedom of Information and Publication Scheme

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 was passed in order to encourage public bodies (including NHS organisations) to be more open and transparent in their conduct.  It came into effect on 1 January 2005.

In response to the Act, we have developed a publication scheme to describe the information we will routinely make available, which makes it easy for anyone with an interest to access information about our Trust. 

The Act gives any person a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities. Any person who makes a request for information to this Trust will be advised if we hold that information and will be supplied with a copy of it, unless an exemption applies.

How to request information

We will respond to you within the 20 working day period provided by the Act. There are some types of information that are not available to the public, like personal information about patients and staff. If you are a patient and would like to see your own health records you can make a request by asking your care co-ordinator or by visiting the Access to Records page.
